Holiday Spice

Holiday Spice is a seasonal blend, a cinnamon bread mix that's guaranteed to brighten those chilly winter mornings. Each package makes a dark, tart-and-sweet, intensely aromatic loaf. This blend is made with dark teff flour - a nutritious Ethiopian grain - and brown rice flour, and slightly sweetened with brown sugar. The bread you'll make has a tender yet crispy crust and a very open, irregular crumb. Our formulation skips nuts, seeds and dried fruits, but home cooks can add up to 1/4 cup each without compromising the results.

NOTE: We made only one batch of this blend, enough to last into January. We feel it's a winter-holidays-only blend, and, like lighting Hanukkah candles or singing Christmas carols, gives us something to look forward to in the darkening days of fall.

 

Holiday Spice is gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free, soy-free and vegan. Contains brown sugar.

 

Try it with peanut butter & quince jam!
